Earthy Gulf Shores, Alabama Elopement

In the off season, photographers get a little bit antsy. There’s less shooting and more back-end biz stuff – which can become a bore after a while. That’s precisely how this earthy Alabama glamping elopement shoot came to life.

My friend + fellow creative, Lauren (the owner of To Gather in Grace), designed this whole thing! From the glamping tents to the florals to the charcuterie boards – the whole thing. She’s so talented!

This was one of my favorite shoots ever. The colors, the environment, the people. It was just so perfect. I am so proud of this work not only because it was a beautiful collaboration, but also because the whole day embodied joint efforts + encouragement + community. Reeeefreshing.

Not even kidding, the food was one of my favorite parts of this day. Why am I acting like anyone is surprised by that? Anyway, look at those colors! After we finished shooting, we dug in and enjoyed this insane spread.

THEN (there’s more?!), as the sun went down and the stars came out, we had hamburgers, red wine + s’mores around a campfire together with our guys.

Best day ever.

It’s so fun when brides add their own personalities into the design of their elopement day. It’s small, but the effect goes a long way. I love this edgy jean jacket with the tent in the background.

Couple in Love

We found dried mushrooms at the florist to include in Morgan’s bouquet. It was different and fit right into the vision of our earthy and organic elopement. Brides, don’t be afraid to try new and quirky things! More often than not, it will be really cool and you’ll love it.

Celebrating After Wedding

Designed by To Gather in Grace

It’s a game-changer when the creatives you surround yourself with become your friends. It makes your work together that much more special. Not only did we create something beautiful, but we became better friends too. A lot of planning and coordination went into this shoot, but on the day of it felt just like a group of friends hanging out while practicing their crafts together.
