5 Tips for Your Next Photoshoot

Heeeey couples, this is for you!!!

Before committing myself to the world of couples photography, I had minimal experience being in front of the camera. Quite frankly, I felt a bit uncomfy and uncertain about how to act / what to do / where to look, etc. I didn’t recognize some of the most essential things that I now look for + encourage my couples to do during my own sessions!

So, if you are wanting photos of you and your hunnie, but are feeling nervy and spooked b/c you don’t know what to do with your hands – take heart and read on!couple nose to nose

ONE: Do not be afraid to be HANDSY

Actually touch each other!!! You do when you’re not getting photos of it, so why stop now? Play with each other’s hair, touch noses, grab each others’ faces … you know, the cute stuff.

TWO: Be sparing about actual kisses

Kissing is romantic n’ stuff, butttt sometimes it looks kinda wonky. I like to tell my couples to get as close as possible without actually kissing. Get nose to nose, body to body but DON’T ACTUALLY KISS. Oftentimes it becomes a fun lil game that makes everybody giggly and get out of their boxes.

THREE: Be flirty!!!

If you’re concerned about being too much, don’t worry about it. I can’t actually hear everything you’re saying and I’m focused on getting your good side (; while encouraging you to come out of  your shell. When you start focusing on your s.o. and telling them how dang great they are, it makes a world of difference!

FOUR: Wear the outfit that makes you feel like a million bucks, but allows you to get a lil dirty

You know those jeans that treat you best every single time you put them on? Yeah, wear those!!! You want to be your most confident self. I strongly urge you to bust out the outfit that is both comfortable (something you can move around in) + makes you feel like the hot tamale that you are!

Still not sure what to wear? Don’t worry, I’ve got ya! (:

FIVE: Treat it like a date night

Get dolled up + shave your legs, listen to a party playlist on your drive over (I personally recommend “2018 Wedding Rap/Hiphop”), danceeee the night away and even go out afterwards. A night full of fun and play!
